It's more than reflux, isn't it?

This is my 4th post, so i'm still learning about GERD and other systems and conditions that go along with it. A little refresher about my condition. Gerd, Hiatal hernia and low grade displaysia. My concerns are this, i've been on omeprazole now for 5 months, it controls most of my acid reflux but not reflux in general. I regurgitate after every meal, sometimes most of what i eat sometimes just a little. Occasionally it contains a little blood. Now is that i'm having shortness of breath and severe pain in my lower back(right side) that wraps around to my groin area. I'm wondering if this is related to my condition or separate. I had pancreatitis last year and my gall bladder removed the year before. Now that i'm done whining, has anyone had anything similar along with their GERD?

Hey there, don't worry about whining, we're all here to help each other.

Have you discussed this with your doctor? Vomiting blood and having shortness of breath are symptoms I would see a doctor about immediately. Has he suggested what the next step should be?

Take care,

The change from normal to premalignant cells that indicate Barrett's esophagus does not cause any particular symptoms. Barrett's esophagus, however, is associated with the following symptoms:
frequent and longstanding heartburn
trouble swallowing (dysphagia)
vomiting blood (hematemesis)
pain under the breastbone where the esophagus meets the stomach
unintentional weight loss because eating is painful

This could be your Barrett's acting up. I'd see my doctor as soon as possible.

I have an appointment on March 5th. I called and talked to his nurse last week about the blood and she told me that it was probably the inflammation in the esophagus and not to be to worried about it. Some how that doesn't sound right. I will be having surgery to take care of the gerd and hernia, not sure if i will be having anything done to take care of the Barretts. That i will make sure is discussed . Any other suggestions, remarks or any kind of guidance will be appreciated.

Thanks Everyone,
