Hello everyone,

I am really just here to vent as it helps to calm me down. I am 20 days post op and I think I overdid eating and activity yesterday. I haven't felt great today but this evening I was feeling a little nausea and my nerves sort of got away with me. I tend to associate stomach issues with anxiety and tonight I am feeling a bit anxious. The anxiety because of the nausea leads to more nausea which is very frustrating. I went ahead and took a zofran which is helping but I am still on edge due to the anxiety. Venting here helps me to get it all out and relax. I suppose I should start journaling but it helps to share with others and I am sure some of you have been through similar things. Anxiety is not uncommon in people who have been dealing with stomach and digestive issues since the two share many symptoms.

Anyway, it is just very frustrating and I wanted to put it out there...I know the nausea is common at this stage of the game but I just wish I could get my mind to relax and not run away from me. Baby steps, baby steps.

Thanks for listening!!! I do feel better!

amanster-

Very good vent and post. You seem to have a good grasp on what this takes to recover from. Anytime you need to vent or just feel crummy and need to talk, hop on here and have at it.

Take care,
Bill

Thanks Bill. It is good to have a group of people who have been through the same thing to bounce things off of. Most people just see that you are looking normal and are back to work, they don't realize how much you are still dealing with.

It seems for me that weekends are the toughest, it seems easier to stay on a schedule when I am at work during the week. Plus when I am busier I don't have time to dwell on things. That is when the anxiety seems to get away from me. During the week by the time I get home I am tired and ready for dinner and bed. :-)

I feel calmer now and the nausea seems better,my stomach is even grumbling like it is hungry, but I am nervous about eating and setting things off again.

When I have a spell like this I usually try something to drink first. Sips and if that goes well I eat a small bit of something kinda bland. Maybe some jello or something to see how it goes.

Take care,
Bill

Thanks Bill. I tried a little bit of pureed chicken noodle soup, mt stand by meal! So far so good, but I am not having much just to be safe!

I have been fighting this nausea off and on all evening, I just realized that the only thing I had different today was I switched from Ensure to Boost. It says ok for lactose intolerant on the package so I assumed it would be ok, maybe it is some of the other ingredients (it has a lot of sugar and vegetable oil) causing my nausea. ????
