Hi All...Checking in!
All is well here...keeping busy with a pretty hectic schedule for someone who's "retired"! Each babysitting stint lasts at least 11 hours, and chasing an 18 month old boy around for 11 hours leaves me exhausted at the end of the day! Wouldn't have it any other way, though. He has fun with Grandma and Grandpa, and when Mommy comes he doesn't want t leave!
I'm tutoring two children now...one in math and one in ELA. Preparing for that is another time-consuming effort, but one that I enjoy. I also am continuing to visit my son's classroom one day a week and help him out there and at home. Those activities keep my finger in teaching, and that's a good thing.
We finished our basement room and spent a couple days organizing and arranging the storage area after the floor was painted there. There are still some things I want to get rid of but I'm biding my time. Hopefully one of our kids will want them.
I'm really enjoying having time to read again. During my teaching and raising kids years I had to pretty much give up my love of reading because I was too busy. At least now whenever there's a lull I have a book handy! I'm reading the Twilight series now, and it's a fun one. Meant for teenagers, but entertaining for adults, too. My next foray into teenage literature will be the Hunger Games. In between I love reading books by Janet Evanovich...she always makes me laugh out loud.
So that's my update.
Ashley, I'm so happy that you're getting into your hands-on nursing training! A chance to put all your "book learning" to work! Enjoy every moment. Best wishes in your PPI-less challenge. Hang in there. It'll all be worth it in the end.
Pegster, hope your school year ends on a happy note! It's always a stressful time of year, and it gets a lot harder to hold kids' attention! Hang in there!
MMM, I'm glad to hear that you're hanging in there on a half dose and the addition of more Zantac. Hopefully you'll get to the point when you're symptom-free. I know you don't need all this just when you're getting back into the labor force.
Joy, Still with you in spirit.
Bill, no doubt you're busy chasing your daughter's team around and enjoying every minute! Thinking of you!
Kitt, I think of you daily, and hope that one day we'll be able to meet up! I hope you had a good visit with your p-doc and that things are going more smoothly. Call any time you want to visit...if it's not a good time I'll let you know and I'll call you back! Have a relaxing evening.
