I had the Nissan fundoplication two days ago. My surgery was done on Monday and sent home on Tuesday. The only issues that I have had so far is the pain in the shoulders and chest area in which the doctor said I need to walk it off to release the gas buildup. My breathing is a little hard to maintain when I'm up walking around but other than that the surgery went well.

Hi Sajacks,
Welcome to the Healing Well yeah yeah yeah Wrapped Club! yeah yeah yeah Glad to hear your surgery went well and your home and healing.  I agree with your doctor that your shoulder pain can be helped by walking.  Just do as much as you can tolerate.
Short walks often, can work well.  When I was in the hospital, the night nurse suggested walking the hospital halls whenever I got up to go to the bathroom.  It was good advice. I always found that the more I walked, the less my shoulder hurt.
Again, glad you're on the other side!
Happy healing,

Hi Sajacks,

Glad to hear you are doing well. I am in the early stages and have just been diagnosed with GERD and meeting with surgeons and second opinions next month. Denise has been great in her posts and I look forward to hearing how your's is going also.

I hope you heal quickly and successfully. Remember to take it easy and don't rush things. I had that shoulder pain too for quite a while after surgery. Walking helped but stretching did the most. You can try leaning very gently into a doorway with hands on either side of the door frame. It helped me a lot. Good luck!!

Congrats Sajacks, hope recovery goes smoothly, just like our food if you excuse the pun.

Also I'm not sure I like the idea of a car manufacturer doing my op... Or if it was, I'd much prefer to have the Lamborghini Fundoplication :P
