Read your post in another thread - "Michelle thinks I am getting pneumonia since I am getting short of breath just going up the stairs."

To the Doctors for you and make sure they do a CXR.  Emphasize your concern re short of breath.  Don't be put off as my hubby was when we went to the clinic on a Monday back in September. The Dr. blew us off only to have my hubby admitted to the Hospital on Wednesday with bilateral pneumonia and oxygen saturation = 86% .

Kitt-

Thanks. I managed to cough up a bunch of crud last night and feel a bit better today. If it doesn't get any better today I am calling my PCP this afternoon, promise.

Take care,
Bill

Bill,
Don't wait for it to get better. GO!  You've had this long enough.
Take care of yourself!  Believe me, I've dealt with those types of lung issues for years because of my asthma.  As Kitt said, you don't want to wait until it's worse.

Have you tried lung PT?  Check out this link and see the procedure for postural drainage.  It might help you get stuff up.  I've actually had my husband hit my back with a towel in between his hands and my back.  It really helps cough things up.  http://www.merckmanuals.com/home/lung_and_airway_disorders/rehabilitation_for_lung_and_airway_disorders/chest_physical_therapy.html

If you Google Postural Drainage you can get more information.

Get to the doc!
Take care,
Denise

Please Please Please listen to Michelle and Kitt and Denise.. get your south end straight away to the Doctor (if you haven't already).. You mean too much to your family and to the friends on this forum to let your self get sick because you are too stubborn to go to the Doctor.... Every one is worried about you including me... you have gone through so much and believe me I know you hate to have to go to another doctor... but you cannot let this go untended..
Now, if you have already taken care of this... I am sorry for chewing you out.. but you have to stay well... We all care about you and you have just gone through too much to let something like this get you down...

Let us know how you are doing... Just tell me to butt out if you want.. I get kind nuts when people I like are ill and won't go get meds for it...turn

Sending healing thoughts your way...

Ok...I went. Dr says it's not pneumonia just very stubborn infection. Starting Levaquin tomorrow since my last dose of augmentin was tonight. I take it for 7 days. If that doesn't work he said he will have a ct done of my sinuses. I had sinus surgery 9 years ago. Does anyone know if turbinates grow back after they reduce them?

Thanks for caring my friends.

Take care,
Bill
