I had an appointment with my dentist and she told me my enamel on few teeth have eroded because of acid. She had mentioned that ppl normally ignore their teeth when they are battling acid reflux. As I booked an appointment ASAP I am going to get fillings done instead of crowns. I strongly suggest fellow GERD recovers to pay a visit to their dentist to stop enamel erosion from GERD.

She also gave me a prescription for flouride paste which can save my teeth during night time reflux.

One thing we should mention is our age though.
Obviously the older you get the more demtal problems one will have.

With that said. I actually have issues. I am 24 and have Lpr.

2-3 years ago I went to the dentist and she took some x-rays.
She told me that the roots on the 2 top front teeth and 2 bottom front teeth were short.

In other words, she told me to be careful when I eat because they can fall out. She said don't bite with your front teeth.

She didn't mention anything about the enamel though. That is the protector on the teeth themselves right?

I stopped eating sugary drinks since I was 16. I started having GERD issues when I was 20. Teeth or enamel erosion is always on my mind. However, I wear retainers in the night, not sure if they protects enamel.

I am 29 years old. I was diagnosed with gerd 3 months ago. The acidity in the mouth effects the enamel. May be your retainers helped you. I went for dental check up in December. Everything looked fine and there was no enamel issues
