I think going vegetarian will definitely help in your GERD symptoms. Vegetarian diet will also keep your cholesterol levels healthy if you stay away from cheese.
I have not tried vegetarian diet. I guess I love meat too much to give up :) However, whenever I eat red meats, I have trouble with acid. I try to eat white meats and fish. I may try going vegetarian once I can figure out my diet plan, and figure out my source of protein.
