ALL UK domiciled GERD sufferers should read this;
especially if you are hoping for Linx surgery, which sounds much better than a lifetime of suffering, high drug use, or the alternative op. Fundiplication.
You should also respond by 22 May if you want to endorse this proceedure, and I am sure, the views of those who have already had this op., wherever they live, will be given due regard.
Please don't hang about, my original post on this has only received 90+ views so far, hopefully, all of these have gone on to post comments to NICE!
NB, my own symptoms are fairly mild, my major problem being poor vocalisation due to damage to vocal chords, which crept up on me over about 12m. with very little other obvious symptoms. and I would probably not score high enough to qualify for surgery at this time.

Hi, I'm in the UK too. I was told I'm not bad enough for surgery, even though my quality of life is very badly affected by my symptoms! I was also told I couldn't have the LINX device because I already have Barretts. The article doesn't mention who would be eligible for the device now that the study phase is complete.

Has anyone with Barretts had the device fitted?

And what's the hydrogel option - sounds nicer than metalwork!!

MMM
New stuff: GERD, Recurrent cystitis/Overactive bladder
Lifelong stuff: Food allergies/intolerance, eczema, asthma

I'm not from the UK, but I want to read the report.
However, my computer does not allow me to open it.

What does the report say? Can anyone summarize it in 3-4 sentences? Thanks.
