i am 3 weeks post-op and just a few days ago came across something that is a godsend. go to betty crocker's website and put in "impossible pies". they have over 100 recipes. to make these pies, everything goes in the blender. bisquick is added to make a soft crust and helps to "marry" the ingredients. simply pour into a greased pie plate and bake. they have main dish pies and dessert pies. some won't work for nissan patients as they have ground beef, but many will. egg based and very filling. raviolli pie, lasagne pie, spinich pie, asparagus pie, pumpkin pie, apple, etc. prep is only 5 min and all you need is a blender! hope this helps a lot of you. i know it has me. :-)

I actually had ground beef from day 4 post op and sincerely recommend it as part of the soft food diet. Actually I think the main reason why I got back on feet so quickly was because I ate ground beef for my dinners to get some energy.
The Pie is an absolute winner too!

Obviously if your doctor/surgeon have given you a different diet you should stick to that, but I was told eat whatever I could easily chew to a mash.

i have not tried ground beef yet, but did enjoy chicken minced a few times. i just prepared the pumpkin cheesecake. you know, there are a lot of folks that have lost way too much weight after this operation. some have had complications and such that they are now way too thin. they could make almost any of these impossible pies with cream and extra cheese as a way to put weight back on.
