I could only view the 1st sentence of your post before it was locked and now removed. I too struggle with depression, but what you are thinking is insane. We are all apart, but bound together by our illness. The madness you are considering has close to no chance of success.

Even though your quality of life is not what you want it to be, I'm sure there are people in your life that need you to remain in their life. I'll steal a quote from "Spock", "The needs of the many out way the needs of the few"!

You are in my thoughts and prayers.....may God be with you!!!!

Kitt and others, I understand the reason for removing the post, however ARM is "one of us" and should not be cast aside. He needs our support now more than ever, we are morally obligated to help our brother! ARM is in a dark place right now, we must not ignore his cry for help.

I saw his post, and I read it in what I believe was the spirit intended...which was a creative attempt at humor. Perhaps if the post ended with a smiley face, or some other clue as to the intent, the reaction would have been much different.

I think, sometimes, as the gravity of this condition overwhelms us, we seek out ways to distract ourselves away from the pain...and I believe this is what ARM did, while trying to share some of his brand of humor with us. If circumstances had been different, and perhaps if the post had been presented in a different way, I think it could've been a fun way for us to poke fun at ourselves, and we all could have contributed to a light-hearted thread.

I also understand why the post was removed. As it stood, it wasn't obvious what ARM was trying to share, especially if someone was new and desperately seeking information.

Bruce,
I'm completely happy and totally in love with my wife....that being said I think I have a man crush on you. lol, (humor). My point is that you just seem to amaze me with your knowledge and wisdom.

I'm a 41 yr old married man with 4 children (so giving advise isn't new to me), however if I could just keep you in my back pocket it would be like having my own bag of all knowing.

Hope I didn't offend you with the man crush joke, Just trying to be light hearted.

The post was removed as there was no place in the content that indicated it was a joke and there was a link involved.

Our first priority is to protect the members of the forum from posts that may be harmful.  If someone is in a crisis situation we always post the information  they may seek help but we are not qualified to deal with mental health crisis situations here in the forum.  No comments were post by the OP that depression was involved. If the OP had a email link in their profile I would have sent this person and email to clarify if this was supposed to be a joke ?

As a person with a 30 year history of depression of the deepest kind, at times, I will always extend a helping hand and have many times here in this very forum as well as the other 3 forums  I moderate.

If you saw the post and did not leave a message then I suspect you found it a bit disturbing also.

* turns the light on

@ Bruce - very observant! ;)

I figured the forum is full of serious posts so a joke wouldn't hurt. It seems the internet is still not the best medium for dry humor. I'd never let my wife do homemade Linx procedure on me after preparing by playing operation and cleaning and cooking fish.

@ DOGGBONES, sorry (and I feel badly that) you took it so seriously. I LOL'd when you mentioned by inference that it actually had some chance of success at all. Did you read the whole thing?

I apologize to StKitt, MMMM and anyone else who was irked by it, thought it was a bad idea or took it in a different way than intended.

ARM,
I did not get to read the whole thing, so I'm sure I would have been able to tell it was humor. No worries, I'm not upset with you and I do love dry humor. Now that I have seen more of the post, it's clear to me that you were joking. :o Oh and um...no chance at all of success with using hand sanitizer! lol

If you write that kind of post again please indicate that you are joking as we have members as young as 13 on the forum as well as members with mental health disorders who may have taken you seriously.  Personally I thought you were just being a smart*** . turn Kidding.........well maybe not - I have a dry sense of humor
too. devil

Aeshleyrose,

lol, well I guess I brought that on myself, can't say I didn't ask for it.

To be honest I've enjoyed getting to know so many of you all and reading so many life changing moments, you can't help but feel his wierd connection.

Bruce and ARM are two people I think that I could really enjoy sitting and having a beer and talking about everything from gerd, sports, government, etc....just about anything. Different people, but kinda wired the same.
