So I am four weeks postop now and actually doing pretty good. Soft diet going well, adding new foods slowly and so far so good. So why no caffeine or chocolate, and when can you put that back into your diet. I had a cup of coffee the other day not realizing it was not decaf and didn't have any problems. I figured it was because of the caffeine irritating the wrap, but I had no problem.

All the advice here has been wonderful in my recovery as I really got no information from my surgeon. According to the doc I can eat whatever I want, and obviously I know better than that. I think that if I am going this well at 4 weeks then at 7 weeks, when I go on vacation, I should really be able to enjoy myself, but also be very mindful of my recovery.

I was told by my consultant to eat chocolate to put weight on, and that was from 2-3 weeks.

I've been doing so and everythings been fine.

Caffeine, probably because it can cause excess acid and irritate the wrap, but ive the occasional cup of tea (but not coffee) and been fine also.
