For several years I have been back and forth to my doctors with various symptoms i put them all together untill reading this board today so saw my doctor on seperate occassions for each. I should also add that I suffer from an anxiety disorder and most of these symptoms have been fobbed off as anxiety but I have known for a long time myself that that wasnt the case.
FEELING OF LUMP AND TIGHTNESS IN THROAT
CONSTANT THROAT CLEARING
EXCESS MUCUS IN THROAT
FEELING LIKE I CANT BREATH PROPERLY .
BITTER TASTE IN THROAT
REGURGITATING FOOD AND LIQUIDS INTO THROAT OR MOUTH

my most recent symptom was a feeling that food was getting stuck in my throat and regurgitation for which my GP referred me to hospital. I was given an Endoscopy and was found to have Grade A Oesophagitis.
Doctor prescribed Lansoprazole 30mg a day which did nothing so dose was upped to 45mg a day and although this helped a little did not stop all the symptoms. My doctor is kind of baffled why such a high dose is not working when I have such minimal damage to the osophegus as she said most patients would be ok on 15mg.
Looking at this board today I think I fit more in line with the symptoms of LPR rather than GERD.
MY QUESTION IS WOULD THEY HAVE BEEN ABLE TO TELL FROM THE ENDOSCOPY IF I HAD LPR RATHER THAN GERD SINCE THEY WERE NOT SPECIFICALLY LOOKING FOR THAT OR WOULD THERE NEED TO BE A SEPERATE TEST TO DIAGNOSE LPR ?

Thx in advance for any info

You need to go to an ENT (ear nose and throat doctor) to get diagnosed with LPR. I would suggest doing that. It sounds like you have symptoms of that. You should also change your diet significantly (low acid, low carb, low dairy, low fat-mainly fruits and veggies and lean meats like fish, chicken, turkey and lean beef).
Diagnosed GERD, no other medical conditions (this one is enough)

Welcome to HealingWell.  I am sorry to read of you problems.  As we are not physicians we cannot diagnosis but I do agree that seeking out futher evaluation from a GI specialist would be wise.
