Hello guys!

I wanted to ask you, how exactly did your symptoms start? Was it suddenly, or gradually? and which one came first?

If you read my previous post you can see that I'm still not officially diagnosed with GERD as I'm waiting for the endoscopy on the 11th, but my symptoms started about one year ago.

After eating I would always feel very full to the point that I wouldn't want to move at all, sometimes I would even have back pain, but that wouldnt bother me enough to go to the doctor, I just thought it was some sort of indigestion. Then it went on like this for months until last month , I started to have some minor difficulty swallowing, and then it got worse and worse very quickly and now I have a sore throat and I feel as if the food stays in my esophagus for such a long time. I also feel some sort of bump in my throat as many people mention.

When I went to the doctor for the first time , regarding this, she told me that I had an infection and gave me amoxicillin for 7 days, but it didnt help at all.

Anyways as I said before, I've been struggling with anxiety for a long time, and that may exacerbate the symptoms I'm feeling, but I honestly feel the PPI's are not working at all-

Many of the symptoms you have is what I started with. The soar, tight throat thing was the one thing that would send me to the ER because then I would start to get anxiety and palpitations because of it. Thought for sure I was dying of a heart attack. My initial diagnosis was anxiety but i kept telling the doctor that something else was going on. Eventually with a new Doctor they kept getting closer and closer to diagnosing me. At first they thought a pinched nerve because my back always hurt, then they decided to treat me for GERD, then discovered I had hpylori, then discovered my GB wasn't functioning and finally found a hernia! So much fun! Make sure they do a check for hpylori during your scope. The PPI didn't work much at all for me until that stuff was eradicated.
