Nice to meet you all I dont know why I have not searched for a site like this before. It seems like its hard to get support
even from friends and family as they just dont understand what we go through. With all the commercials on tv saying take prilosec, zantac and eat what you want people think of it as nothing serious.
I just went to my appointments finally after waiting half a year to be seen by a specialist motility GI doctor. My primary doc diagnosed me with idiopathic gastroparesis and gave me reglan, zantac and phenergan to take non of which really helped as I continued to have symptoms
almost every morning.
They did a bunch of tests (Gastric empty study which showed normal for solid food digestion but I was slow in digesting liquids. The next day I had an upper gi endoscopy done which showed my z-line irregular 39cm from the incisors and grade C reflux esophagitis, they took biopsies of this. They recommended I do another test called antroduodenal manometry and electrogastrogram but I wont hear about the results from those for a few weeks from now. )
For the last two years I been having problems eating and holding food down even water. It started out only once a week or so but now its pretty much daily. I feel bloated, full all the time when I have not ate anything the entire day. And if I do eat I get acid reflux/vomit or belch continiously as if I have trapped air or something in my stomach. I notice it happens more with stress when im not able to go do things with friends or enjoy the things I like to do. I managed to control vomiting for the most part by eating less at once but changing my diet has been a struggle. I used to weigh 260 before I started loosing weight hiking and mountain biking about 3 years ago then the last 2 years I started having these problems when I got around 200 pounds and now im down to 175. I dont see how looseing weight could have triggered this but thought I should mention it. Ive tryed prilosec, zantac, reglan, phenergan but all they seem to do is knock me out most of the day tho I suspect its the reglan.
I guess im just wondering if anyone else is going through this and how things are going for them. I will post updates on what the doctor says. Anyone here have grade c esophagitis and have any success on it healing over time if so what meds are you on? I had an endoscopy less than a year ago and they said everything was fine I just dont understand how im all sudden grade c when it was fine. Im 26 and still kicking looking for answers and support.
go out for all of you, lets heal and get better.
