Hello everyone!
Three months ago I was scoped and the doc found a loose les, small hernia and moderate esophagitis. He put me on dexilant 60mg + zantac.

I still feel discomfort in my esophagus. Kind of feels like very mild heartburn.

Do you all think I should get scoped again? I have a lot of anxiety about my esophagus getting chewed up by acid. Is 3 months later too soon? Is there an easier way to know if my esophagus is getting damaged? The egd is pretty uncomfortable and requires sedation.

What are your thoughts?

Also, does anyone know if I can get a transnasal endoscopy in California?

Hi there

I don't think they'd be keen to do it again so soon unless you have any 'red flag' symptoms like anaemia or weight loss. However, if the treatment isn't giving you adequate symptom relief you should go back and discuss things.

New stuff: GERD, Recurrent cystitis/Overactive bladder
Lifelong stuff: Food allergies/intolerance, eczema, asthma

I agree, I doubt you will even be allowed to get scoped again that soon. Maybe further testing is needed
Diagnosed GERD, no other medical conditions (this one is enough)
