Hi All,

Okay, this is very strange. I left for vacation last week on Wednesday night and had absolutely NO symptoms while on vacation. I don't really get heartburn, but more of a discomfort in my chest with some tightness while breathing. Before I left, I had a lung xray which was normal. On May 24th, I had an endoscopy - completely normal which is why my GI doc sent me to pulmonary doctor.

Yesterday, I went to get a complete pulmonary workup and they did notice a 28% increase in part of my lung breathing after giving me some meds. Albutorol? SP.

Anyhow, I'm now wondering if in-fact I am having allergies to my surroundings here at home or in my area and that I didn't have while on vacation in another part of the state closer to the ocean? I was thinking I had reflux, but no I'm starting to wonder if it isn't because I'm telling you, I was living it up while on vacation and drinking wine and eating whatever I wanted. Now that I'm back home, I'm starting to notice some of the discomfort (which to me feels like acid reflux if that makes any sense) and chest tightness.

I see the pulmonary doctor on Monday to go over all my test ressults.

Anyway, had a great vacation.

Does anyone think that I could just be suffering from stress. Could stress be the culprit?

It's late reply but I just stumbled upon your post :)

If your main symptoms are breathing problems and if you really suddenly felt better on vacation, perhaps a good idea would be checking your home and surroundings for things like mold or chemicals?

Why I mention that is some years ago me and my mother stayed at an old summer house for few weeks during vacation and it was quite the opposite. Overnight my mother developed breathing problems and generally felt awful to the point that we had to return home early. After we came back, everything was suddenly fine again. Turns out there was a rotten moldy window ledge that caused this.

I'm no specialist and you should definitely tell your doctor about those symptoms, but I wanted to share this anyway.

You know, just a thought :)
