Be careful with the alkaline diet, some of the foods that are acceptable for the alkaline diet are not good for GERD (ex: tomatoes, lemons, limes, grapefruit). You have to pick and choose with this diet. Avacados are very alkaline but they are also very high have to avoid foods that are high fat. The diet that seems to be effective for me is the low fat, low acid (broccoli, peas, carrots, lettuce, potatoes, green beans, almonds, lean meats such as chicken turkey and lean beef, melons, bananas that are not green but a little brown, brown rice, organic foods, oats), low carb, and gluten free. Glueten is found in wheat and is very fattening and hard to digest. You can use the alkaline chart to guide you but know that it is not going to be exactly the same for GERD people.
Diagnosed GERD, no other medical conditions (this one is enough)
