Hey everyone

on Tuesday i went to the e.r for upper abdominal pains which i was told it was gerd..all i had was some blood work done to check my pancreas and gall bladder count which came out fine.i'm worried because i get sharp pains in my upper abdominal which started happening when i left the e.r.sometimes they're also on the left.i get sharp pains on my chest as well but i know it's chest pain because i just had my 2nd EKG done last Saturday.i also suffer from anxiety and depression.my only question is and i will really appreciate some answers is
Can anyone please describe to me what symptoms you have experienced with gerd? has anyone ever gotten the same pains that i just described?
I do understand that anxiety and gerd go hand in hand but i just want to know if it's not only me.

It sounds like you were suffering from esophageal spasms.

Being anxious can cause more acid thus causing spasms.

Find you a good gastroenterologist.

I have GERD. I went to the doctors because my stomach hurts and I tend to throw up acid everytime I eat anything.....I can't drink juice or eat certain fruits. I had this trouble since I was a child. I'm taking medication now....it kinda works. what you should is first, is to not panic. then, don't eat anything acid rich...like lemons, oranges. no spicy stuff. anti-acids if you need to. this problem cause also come from stress. you may have too much stress?

Wow.since a child? How have you been dealing with it?
Honestly, the only reason i panicked was because i have anxiety.maybe because of the stress, it also can be because I herd/read and was told that anxiety and gerd go hand in hand.i did have gastritis when i was 16.
But, that went away.

well when I was a child, I didn't throw up but I couldn't drink juice cause It causes me pain. Now I'm 16. The problem got worse. I throw up constantly after eating something spicy or anything water rich. I deal with it by never drinking juice. but It made me an easy target to get sick. so I have to take vitamins. anxiety may be the problem for you. sorry you have it. I have it too.but it doesn't hit me until i'm angry. and I tent to throw up too xD so we have the same pain.*sigh*

Lol i rather not.when i had gastritis i stayed sober for 3 years.i was afraid to touch one alcoholic beverage.i tell my self that if i'm having a beer while having a stomach problem it's pretty much like having to start taking care of my self all over again.that's just me though.
Thanks.
Well, it can happen to any one.
