Hi nozie,
Welcome to Healing Well!  Click on the link below, and it will take you to my early recovery journal.  It will give you an idea of one person's experience:

I had a Nissen fundoplication three and a half years ago, and am very glad I did.  My lungs were reacting very badly to reflux, and I needed the surgery to try and heal my lungs.  Thankfully it worked, and my lungs responded very well.  I only wish I'd had the surgery done much earlier, but I had been scared by all the frightful posts on the internet.

Glad you've joined us!
Best wishes,
Denise

Hi nozie,
My surgery did the trick and my lungs improved 100%.  It took about two and a half months for them to heal.  My lungs were very unhealthy for over 5 years, and the surgery was a necessity.  I'm so thankful I finally had the courage to go forward, and just wish I hadn't waited so long.
Good luck with your surgery on the 26th.

Stick around and ask any questions that come to mind.
We're here to offer support and information!
Best wishes,
Denise

Remember to take it easy afterwards and go with the flow. If you push or fight the process you will have a hard recovery.
Take your time in healing.
