I'm a stay at home dad and 12 days days post op. My son goes to school and my daughter goes twice a week to Nursery. My wife is in full time work. When is it normal to resumes activities such as driving and taking/picking up kids to/from school etc.? Also two young kids are difficult to look after at the moment so obviously that has been taken off my hands for now.

It's a bit of a logistical nightmare having grandparents do it at the moment.

On the same note, when should I expect to be able to do housework again. I am already doing some small bits but I feel some discomfort and stop. Also feeling quite weak from lack of nourishment and very tired. Just concerned that people will soon be expecting too much from me too soon.

I was able to drive at day 10. I had been off strong pain killers for 6 days. I wanted to be able to think while driving.
I was back to teaching at 2 weeks. I'd do a little and rest a little.

You know your body and know what you can do. Don't let people push you before you're ready to do something.

Just remember you must not lift anything over 5 lbs before the six weeks mark. Gradually add more pounds each week. If you feel any discomfort stop and leave that alone for a few days.

Have you been drinking any nutritional drinks like ensure or boost? use your blender to process some soup to get some protein.
