Hi! I originally went to the doctor for stomach pain, no appetite and the buldge under my left rib cage it don't hurt too bad but sometimes gives me sharp pains. I was diagnosed with hpylori and was treated with antibiotics and I am still on aciphex because they also found gerd through all this so I haven't been retested yet for the hpylori because I have to be off the aciphex for two weeks before being retested. The buldge went almost completely away after I was done with the antibiotics and has now returned. Has anyone else experienced this buldge with hpylori? Or can it be something else
Thanks
Take care always!

Hey there, good morning.  A bulge caused by H-Pylori is not something I have ever heard of but perhaps another member has.  Did your Dr. mention a possible Hiatal Hernia as a caused the the bulge ?  Just a thought.

I would certainly talk to your Dr. and ask for an explanation for this concern.

Kindly,
Kitt

Hi Kitt, thanks for the response! No one has mentioned that to me. Can I ask what a hiatal hernia is and how would they find that? I have an appt with my gi dr next Friday and want to see if they will do an ultra sound maybe that will tell me more
Thanks

Yolee-

A hiatal hernia is a defect in the diaphragm where your esophagus goes through. Basically most people have this, but to varying degrees. Some have trouble with it and some don't.

Some GIs say they can see it during an EGD and other day they see it with a barium swallow tests. I imagine an ultra sound might show it too.

Take care,
Bill
