Would like to share a bit of information. Mycrocrystaline Cellulose is wood pulp. If you take a pill the chances are it's there. Eat shredded cheese, it's there. It's in ice cream. Start reading labels, you will be shocked,
I have just come to realize i am allergic to it and it has torn up my stomach and throat. It is a cumulative thing.
People with thyroid or celiac issues seem to be more prone to the allergy. People with thyroid issues are prone to GERDS.
So many digestion issues over the years I didn't understand are starting to make sense.
If you can get a medication or a vitamin in a capsule or liquid instead of a pill, do so to hold down the amount of it you consume. It is not the harmless thing the literature implies.
Am having to have most of my prescription meds compounded.
Make sure your GERDS meds are capsules.
I don't think you would have to be allergic to the stuff to have it rip up an already sensitive stomach and throat.
Wood is for termites, not people.

Thank you for the info. I eat only organic and read labels religiously. Preservatives are not good for you.

Would that I could post some kind of definitive answer. Right now this is day by day. Check out Stop The Thyroid Maddness and microcrystalene cellulose. Armour Thyroid reformulated the binders in their meds in 09. It was problamatic for many but not for me. My pharmacist cornered the market on old Armour. I was golden for two yrs and my bubble burst. My thyroid imploded in 4/12. I chewed the stuff like I read. Thyroid # were worse. I have secondary thyroid. New doc. She doesn't believe anyone has secondary/pitutary thyroid. That,s a whole nother story.
Armour revamped there med to include microcrystalene cellulose.
I am now hypothyroid...FT4. .7 TSH. .4
So we start to raise my Armour from 120 mg which was good for ten yrs, to 150. I keep feeling worse. We raise it to 180, I feel even worse. 210, bad to awful. Blood test. Thyroid numbers look great, even RT, great. White blood count flagged Not Good!.
Understand, my doc of ten yrs has had his own life imploding issues.
I am knowing that this is probably not a thyroid issue but for lack of what else is happening, I was given Levothyroxin so in desperation I balled on Armour and took Levothroxen. Two hrs later, I couldn't swallow my coffee. Really!
Google Levo, microcrystalene. It,s a hello mement.
Had my thyroid meds compounded without micro. C.
I was good for three days. Here we go again.
Had my blood pressure and Atavin meds compounded. Good for three days.
My throat started swelling, swallowing was a real, real problem. I was choking on food!
Let's try my last resort for over the top allergy. Prednisone and Brnadryl. Tablet Pred and tablet Ben, they both contain microcrystalene cellulose. The very drugs I am using to control my allergy are my allergy.
This is like three days ago and I am still working thru it.
I am 71 years old. I have spent 40+ years working thru the allergies that the allergieast and endrocronoligists who didn't connect to me.
Would that this connection had existed a long time ago and thanks to the Internet that it does now. The medical community has it's limits. Those of us who walk to a different drummer, we need to teach the medical community. We are our normal and need to stop being catigorized to some false premiss. We have not been
heard. We are not their abnormal. We march to a different drummer.
Because I can't meet up to some Endrocronolgy, preconceived,
Lab created number. It is my problem but they blow mw off. It shows how narrow minded, uninformed, self aggrandizing and bigoted educated people can be. I applaud their education and the years they have spent to get there. They need to start listening to their patients..Us.
I understand your doubt on this subject of microcrystalene
Celluose. There is not a single doubt in my mind they this stuff has torn my gut apparat. Knowledge is power. Be vigilant..

What you post would definitely not be a definitive answer. It's just helpful for the members to be able to read what you have been researching also. If you have any websites or research papers that are online and would post a link to them it helps the members to do some research of their own as well.

We are quite open minded here and we are always glad to hear of new information or discussion ideas. We just aren't allowed to post links to sites that are selling things, but other than that any are appreciated. If you post information from a paper or site versus a link please include the source as to allow proper credit to the person who wrote it.

Thank you for adding to the forum and if you have any questions don't hesitate to email me, Kitt, or Ericapeace2000 we are the mods here and our emails are on our profiles.

Take care,
Bill
