My doctor has prescribed me generic wellbutrin not for depression but to quit smoking. I am scared to start the medication because I am worried it will make my gerd symptoms worse. Can anyone share their experiences with anti depressants or this particular one if anyone has used it. I know smoking isn't good for it either but my symptoms aren't horrible with smoking
Thanks
Take care always!

An antidepressant actually helped my symptoms because my anxiety about the condition made the symptoms worse. The drugs that seem to bother reflux are benzo drugs like xanax, valium, ativan. Smoking is really really bad for reflux.

Thanks Erica! I know I need to stop smoking that's why I asked the Dr what I can use because I have tried everything else and here I am still smoking, but you know the Dr don't tell you anymore than they need to about medicine her response when I asked if this would be ok with my gerd and stomach issues was "yeah it should be fine". I hope u are doing well Erica thanks again for the response.

Anyone else have any good experiences or bad please share
Thanks
Take care always!

For me it worsened it alot when i started to go for the higher dosages. started at 25 mg and that was fine, then went up to 50 and some weeks after that 75 and later on 100 and then it started to really hurt again. I had the stomach problems for 3 months constant all day and night but probably becuz of some weird virus..

And the reason i started an antidepressant was becuz i'd probably gotten occipital neuralgia from a whiplash injury some months earlier. But it hasn't worked one bit for that, so now i'm waiting for another solutions.

Don't be afraid to start using an antidepressant, it's alot of bullcrap about antidepressant dulling ur senses or whatnot across the web, but it's completely up to how strong u are mentally. i've felt no impact on nothing from taking the antidepressant apart from being a little tired the first 1 or 2 days, just a little hungover kinda and the increased acid reflux. hope this helps
