I am thankful for this forum as I can't talk to anyone about my experiences. I am alone in this journey other than this forum. I am seeing my surgeon this Thursday with a list of questions. Since I seem to get more answers here I will throw them out there to see if anyone can share what they have experienced.
Is it normal to have crazy intestinal cramps? Like so bad you go to emerg?
I tried a little wine and then I swear I had reflux that night? Anything acid makes it feel like I have reflux. (coffee) Major pain in the upper back :-(
I still get food stuck and feels like it sits there for ever...... then I go back to really soft foods as I am afraid I have damaged the wrap
When can I run again or exercise? ( that will help with cramping I am sure)
How long does the wrap last?
Thanks again for all your support!

I will answer what I can.. I am 18months post Nissen.. I too felt alone in this until I found this forum and the great people here.. I was able to ask questions and they answered with their experiences..

I had some really bad cramping when I started real food.. the soft diet.. not mush but soft.. I never had to go to the ER but, if you are hurting that bad.. by all means go.. make sure to tell them of the surgery you recently had though..

My opinion only.. 5 weeks is a bit early to be sampling the wine.. acid is wicked from what I hear..
Anything that irritates the esophagus can feel like reflux because that is the way the esophagus feels it.. from what I understand it is called a DUMB organ because if it is different, it feels like reflux... coffee would have the same affect as wine.. acid doesn't do well..

As far as running or exercising.. can't answer that.. I am 63 and have developed a slight problem with my heart so I don't do either.. some one else will be on to tell you which way to go on it.. at least in their experience..

Hope you get to feeling better
Remember that you have to listen to your body.. if it says NO then don't do it.. this recovery takes time.. just because the outside is healed doesn't mean the inside is..
