When they do these tests are you supposed to be off any PPI's or on them for awhile?

It depends on your doctor. I was still on mine for my testing.

It would make more sense to me to be off them, right?

If you are off of them, the tests could be measuring the rebound from getting off the PPI. And a lot of people have symptoms while ON the medication anyways. Also, some people can not tolerate being off the medications. When I was considering the testing, my doctor told me he could do the tests while on my medication.

I still have issues while on the PPI's. I'm worried they will say it's not enough and decide I need to stay on the PPI's forever :'( I take 60mg Prevacid a day - seems high to me! It also makes me feel run down and exhausted

i was tested two days on meds and then two days off. I feel the results would definately be better off the meds, but I still had the issues on meds that why it really did not matter to me

I just want the most accurate reading so I don't have to go through it a 2nd time!

How long is the "rebound"?
