Hi all!
I am having my surgery on November 9, 2012 and was wondering how long I will be back at work. I am a Police Officer and I dont want to ruin any correction the surgery will give me. Has anyone any advise on when they returned to work?

It all depends on the individual patient and what your surgeon tells you. I had my TIF Hiatal repair surgery on Oct 8th my appointment for my Surgeon is Oct 25th. If you are just getting the TIF without the hernia repair you could be back a lot sooner. My office told me even with just the TIF you will be going back in about 10 days but on light duty with no heavy lifting. My surgeon did tell me only 20 percent of reflux people just have the TIF operation done. Eighty percent of Acid Reflux patients have both hernia repair plus the TIF. I am in the 80 percent. I hope you are in the 20 percent. Good luck to you for your surgery.
