hi there,

how was your condition diagnosed? did the doctor do an endoscopy on you?

headache and shoulder and arm pain - these are not GERD symptoms, were you having these after you started taking the medicine?

Do check the sticky threads on this forum to have an understanding of GERD and learn the proper diet that will help you manage GERD.

Good luck

WJF i had an endoscopy and my doctor diagnozed me after that. All so GERD is genetic in my family. But Mabey the headaches and arm pain could be because of anxiety or lack of excercise

Hi,

I believe your family is well aware of how to coup with this illness then. Nevertheless, you may be the most well-informed family member with the help of internet. There are plenty of resources here and on other sites.

In the early stage, GERD can be well managed by diet and stress management.

There are 5 or 6 PPIs available that you can try, if one is not working ask your doctor to give you another one. I have tried all of them and I keep switching because for some reason they don't work as well after a while. Also ask your doctor for carafate, to coat your esophagus.
good luck

Hi,
I'm sorry to hear about your chronic heartburn problem, and I wish I could help. I'm going throught the same thing right now, unfortunately. This happens to me occasionally, and I used to be able to fix the problem with no worries. There were two products on the market that worked wonders for me: Twin Labs Stress Formula B-50 and/or GNC Mood Formula.
Both of these products contained exactly the same ingredients. The only difference was that the Twin Labs product was in a capsule form, and the GNC product was a tablet. I've been looking for this product for over two years, as I'm always getting getting into trouble with heartburn that won't go away. No one makes it to my knowlege, and I've contacted both Twin Labs and GNC to see if they plan to start selling either one again. GNC sent me a copy of the lable, but that doesn't do much good. I need the product - not the lable.
Now I'm stuck with Larry the Cable Guy, instead of a healthy lifestyle.
