My problems started roughly 9 months ago. 28 year old male. At the time my diet had consisted 100% of raisin nut bran cereal and skim milk for roughly 2 months and I got hit with constant belching out of the blue. Left for a few weeks then back full blast. My symptoms are entirely 100% focused on belching and pressure in my upper stomach. Everything else is fine. It is at times severe and dairy will kill me which NEVER was a problem for me. Fake sugars will KILL me. Too many carbs are always what lead to the worst symptoms.

I have eaten double whoppers and been fine. Meat and fat don't typically bother me in the least.

I will get heartburn with this which I never had prior. Gas pills only make worse. Upper Endo showed only scarring from what must have been caused from acid which came after onset of symptoms. H Pylori test came back negative.

From the upper endoscopy my 25 year old GI doctor with a degree from a third world country told me I have acid reflux. I had already told him I was taking every single antacid medication in unison and they only made it worse. At this point I lost faith in him completely and utterly.

To my way of thinking this is indicative of Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth brought on by a diet which constituted a bacterium's dream.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

Try some probiotics to see if you feel better.
Then if you're still suffering go to a different doctor.

Have you tried digestive enzymes? I take papaya enzymes and they help for me. Maybe you are lactose intolerant, so steer clear of dairy.

Thanks for the input. I have begun both probiotics and digestive enzymes to little avail. I have been on them only for 3 weeks or so. I do believe that I am lactose intolerant but only in the sense that I cannot digest it due to whatever the macro-issue is. I went from drinking almost 3/4 gallon a day to not being able to handle a thimble overnight and it cause no stomach issues other than belching and bloating.

There was no change in diet or anything when this problem came and it just snapped out of the think blue sky. I have found that if I eat only tuna fish sandwhiches my belching etc. are manageable but this is not a diet which is enviable!

As your title says, you are having maldigestion or indigestion.

Keep a food diary and eat food that is easier to digest.
Eat slower and chew longer.
Consider splitting your meals if the standard meal size is too large for your stomach. A light exercise or long walk after meals will certain help.

Are you having stress in work or school?

You may have hit upon something key. When this all began I was in the midst of starting a new company and was literally working 95-100 hour work weeks. I am beginning to pickup upon a strong tie between stress and my issues. Very strong. Also a strong link between my voracious appetite for Adderall and my digestive issues.

It is ALWAYS the worst when I've eaten a larger meal especially if I have done abdominal exercises that day. I have lost roughly 35 pounds(245 to 208) over this period, but mostly due to 15-25 hours of cardio a week. I have over this time had to begin taking Lisinipril due to blood pressure but have maintained it at an average 120/75. My resting pulse is in the upper 50's-lower 60's but by end of day I'm almost at 90.

Today was my first day of getting my office running with employees and I have noticed that it is the first time which I have allowed my mind to clear(outside of exercise) due to the knowledge that I will actually be able to handle everything in the morning.

I so hope that this is the cause!

Thanks so much! You've all helped tremendously.
