There are medications that are safe in pregnancy. You could start with Gaviscon (it is over the counter). I would advise you to stick to foods that are non acidic, and low fat. Stick with fruits (melon, bananas) and veggies (carrots, peas, broccoli, beans) as well as lean protein such as chicken, turkey and fish. Eat small meals and chew your food. You could look into Evamore water which is a high PH water to help. You can get it at Whole Foods or other grocery stores that have an organic or gluten free section. Stay away from the following: chocolate, spice, fried foods, high fat foods, caffine, smoking, coffee, acidic fruits (oranges, strawberries, blueberries). You may want to hold off on grains, but gluten free may be ok. You should also be ok with potatoes.

Hi queenofkings,
You should not be struggling with this on your own.  You are pregnant, which means that you need to let your doctor know exactly what's going on and ask what you can and can't take to help yourself.  As Erica said, there are many things that are okay to take while pregnant.  Please call your doctor and ask him/her what is recommended for the problems you're having.  Heartburn during pregnancy is extremely common, so your doctor won't be surprised.

It's obvious that you're in a lot of discomfort.  Avoid GERD triggers (Erica has listed some), and please call your OB/GYN office for guidance.  You've described the pain you're in very clearly...be sure to do the same when talking to your doctor.  There is help out there for you.

Hang in there!
