I had TIF procedure for GERD on Oct. 552, approx 6 1/2 weeks ago. The surgery went very well and the recovery has gone well too. I am able now to "eat anything I want" (quote from Dr. Bax). I do but really had a problem with Coke. Then I realized that I will probably have problems with that for the rest of my life. I can live with that. At any rate, I was only on liquids for eight to ten days then went to soft foods. I do feel a feeling of my swallower not working too well when I eat things that are doughy and also sweet stuff. I am 73 years old, have suffered with GERD for about 18 years. Dr. Tim Bax is only doc in Spokane that does the procedure but he did it very well. I will be forever thankful that I had this done. I hope others will consider it. No incision, just all done through the tube in the scope.

Hi happy,
Welcome to the Healing Well yeah yeah yeah TIF Club! yeah yeah yeah We have many happy TIF members, and I'm glad you've joined us! I'm a member of the Nissen Wrap Club, but our recoveries are very similar.  Yes, carbonated drinks can be a problem.  I drink soda occasionally, but in moderation.  I can also drink beer without trouble, but I don't drink a lot.
Glad to hear you're doing well! I'm sure other TIF Club members will be by to greet you and offer their ideas and support.
Happy Healing!
