I feel like i keep posting the same thing but i really need to get some feedback and "talk" to people who understand.

I am on a VERY low acid, no fat diet for a week.
I've been on Prilosec for a few weeks 40mgX2
I haven't touched ANY trigger foods or alcohol.
I've been drinking about 3/4 gallon of alkaline water per day for ten days straight.
I don't recline after eating and i don't go to sleep until at least 3 hours after dinner.

(OK one thing i haven't done is raise my bed, but my night time reflux is minimal, it's the days i really suffer.)

I have very little throat burning, comes and goes but my main issue is cough and mucous. i try to cough it out, i usually can't, choke and vomit a few times a day. Shouldn't i be feeling better by now? A few times I sipped a little Gaviscon and it helps temporarly but i don't think you're supposed to mix PPI's and that, does anyone know if that's true because it makes me feel so much better.

I'm seeing Dr. Kaufman on Thursday but i'm so scared she's going to tell me there is something VERY wrong here. The mucous is CRAZY and hasn't changed at all! Maybe even worse. I've lost ten pounds in a week. I'm so scared.

Try to hang on until Thursday.
Also avoid milk. Milk creates mucus build up in the esophogus.

Hello! I was the same way. I was taking 30 Mg of previcd for years and it controlled the issues for the most part but this last year (after my third pregnancy) it came back and I would have bad break through even on double the previcid. No matter what I ate, when I ate, how I was sitting or laying, it was bad. I just had the Nissen and hiatial repair done last Monday. Gald you are going to see the doctor-I be relief however that looks in near!

It takes time. It took me a while on the diet and medication to improve and it's very gradual. I'm still working on managing the last symptom (back pain between shoulder blades, worse after eating.)

Thanks everyone, the feeling of choking never ends. I can do nasal irrigation and think oh i got alot that that time, then blow my nose with the same effect. TOTAL relief. For about three minutes. I've been withdrawing from everything. I can't wait until Thursday. Seriously.
