Hello! I am wondering if anyone has been pregnant after having a nissen fundoplication. I had this procedure done a year ago, and I am 7 weeks pregnant. I just had a bout of unbelievable nausea, ran to the bathroom but I was physically unable to vomit. I dry heaved for about 20 minutes and felt better. I called the surgeon, who happened to be on call, and he was annoyed that I called after hours. I am just nervous and scared that this will affect my baby.

Heather, congrats on the pregnancy! I can't answer your question about the Nissen, but I can tell you that I never threw up when pregnant (never had a Nissen), but dry heaved every morning for the first trimester. That is pretty common for pregnant people! If it is very bothersome, there are some medicines that are safe that your OB can prescribe that help with the naseau.
