I had the NF 34 days ago and in the main I have been fine. However a few times after I have eaten I have had immense pain around the wrap and been sick bile from above the wrap and not the stomach.

Tonight the pain was much worse and lasted about 45 mins. Initially I had the bile sickness then it got so bad that I was sick from my stomach.

I feel okay now but can this damage the wrap so soon after my op?

Thanks

Helen

Wait and see how things go.
I was sick several times after my surgery. My wrap is still secure.

Make sure to take your antinausea meds as soon as a wave of nausea hits next time.

Hi Hellybob

This sounds like this could be food getting stuck at your wrap.

What were you eating at the time, and were you eating slowly and chewing properly? It's easy to forget to do this so early after your op - especially if you are having food with family/friends and you are keeping up with them.

Hi Hellybob

Unlikely you have done any damage, as I first had this a couple of months after my op after going to a restaurant with friends. Not sure I'd describe it as pain, but I'd say it's more like a really unfomfortable/un-natural feeling.

I'm 9 years on from my op and I still get this occasionally - although it's much rarer now (last time was about a year ago) as I've learned my lesson and just eat slower and chew more subconciously.

My wife knows when this has happened, as she says all the colour just drains out of my face.

I do find that a bit of dry retching (sometimes forced by a finger down my throat) can sometimes dislodge the blockage, but I'm not sure this is something you should be doing so close to your op.

The only other thing you can do sadly is wait for the blockage to dislodge itself - 45 mins or so sounds about right as you stated above.

Cheers.

Les.
