I was told not to lift anything heavier than 5 lbs for six weeks. Then to slowly increase the weight over the next month or two. I could lift normal after month 3, but I listened carefully to my body and stopped if I felt any discomfort around my wrapped site.
I recently helped my father move a treadmill out of the house. He took the brunt of it though. I didn't feel any discomfort. It's been 3 years though.
