Hi,

I've recently been suffering from problems with swallowing and feeling like there is something stuck in my throat.  I have not been eating well at all due to this. Just yesterday I went to see and ENT and he scoped  me and did not see anything wrong. I was also put on Zantac , thinking it could be GERD which I have had problems with in the past and stomach ulcers. I now have to go see a GI dr. and get a gastroscopy done. I am so anxious when I am going to eat that the symptoms seem to get worse.  Has anyone else had these similar symptoms and if so do you have any advice??
Thanks.

Hi misty and welcome,

Yes this is a very common symptom with GERD. Sometimes I also have problems getting down my food and even drinks as well. The only advice that I can give is to make sure you chew your food really good and make sure to always have a drink when you are eating just in case something does have a hard time going down. Hopefully, someone else can help out a little.

I suffered from this for serval months, then it just calmed itself down and now happens just a couple of times a week, but only lasts about an hour. It's possible it could just calm itself down in time.
