As my surgery date approaches (Jan 30), I am more than nervous.

Since most of us have at least 30 years ahead of us, do you worry about a foreign object for that long in your body ? Do you worry about other possible bad effects ? Or that it may stop working ?

Aren't you worried about Nissen Fundo ?

How do you keep sane when your life is in front of you and you are forced to take a step like this ?

So far, I've been consoling myself that future will be brighter in terms of surgical treatment options, or that perhaps lab grown sphincters do become reality. Of course, assuming that Linx works at all and close to 15 years or so.

Thinking exactly the same, I've been research both Nissen and linx, both seem ad afterwords, the linx Facebook page is good and are quick to answer any questions. Such a decision to make, from what I've read linx is easier to take out with slightly less complications, but it's new which opens up a whole new load of issues etc, good luck

gerd_hater - you are scheduled now? You stopped posting in my thread, I thought you left or something.

I am getting worried... but that's typical to be worried about any procedure before you have it. I know LINX is newer but it's more logical than Nissen to me. Nissen sounds like there can be more complications and it's more invasive, etc.

Good luck with everything!!
