Ok, so I took my first dose of Prevacid yesterday around 12:30pm. I was feeling fine though. No chest pain, no lump in my throat. Then I decide to go out of town this morning and on the way there, I started having this odd feeling in the left side of my neck...like the seatbelt was cutting into my throat. But it wasn't. Just kept happening. Got home around 11:30am...a little too soon for my pill, so I decided to go take a nap. The phone rang, I ignored it, and decided to roll over on my stomach. OMG, the pain was awful. Very uncomfortable. So I rolled back over to my side. It's now 2:24pm. I am awake. Took a poop (pardon all my details), but my stomach still feels a little tender from where I rolled over on my side, AND I'm having chills. Granted, it's 54 F outside and 68 F inside, so it may just be the temperature, but I'm now worried about continuing on with this Prevacid. I did forget to mention before that I'm taking 50mg of Atenolol every night. I'm not eating much for fear of all the pain coming back 10 fold. So could this be a possible side effect of the Prevacid, the combination of the two meds(which are taken at least 12 hours apart), or is it just a freak coincidence and it's all in my head? lol I have to tell you, I am a worrywart and worry over everything. sad I don't know where else to turn. Doctors won't answer questions over the phone, they simply tell you to go to the hospital which never solves anything for me.

do you have gastritis too? I know that because of my gastritis I can not sleep on my stomach, It starts to hurt and burn and I start getting hot flashes and sweating, who knew gastritis can be this bad
I have to sleep on my back or my right side
I don't know what to say, also the two medicine might be interacting
try to take some maalox or gaviscon, it might calm your stomach
try to take it again tomorrow and see if you get the same side effects

for the ppi to work the best, you have to take in the morning on an empty stomach 30 min before eating

Well, I usually take it as soon as I get up. That's what the pharmacist recommended. However, I'm off for three days in a row, including today and silly me stayed up all night, went to the flea market this morning, got home around 11:30am and like I said, layed down as soon as I got home. Unfortunately, I'm not a consistent person when it comes to getting up at the same time daily. My work schedule is never the same and I'm such a night owl when I'm not working. I know my stomach's been growling a lot since I got up. The pain has subsided, but I feel like I have an empty stomach. Which may be possible since the last time I ate was 8 hours ago. lol My house is just full of junk food and I'm scared to eat any of it. No wonder people lose weight when they have this issue. I could definitely stand to lose a few pounds or 150.

it sounds like you didn't take your medicine today, and your stomach is also irritated from the antibiotics
eat something easy, broiled potato, carrots, chix, some toast and see if you feel better
make some herbal tea, that might calm your stomach too

and you need to be consistent with your medicine and diet for a while to see if it gets better
I know it's hard, but you don't want this to get out of control, it's much harder to stop it later on
