I have been diagnosed with acid reflux. My symptoms are episodes of nausea and vomiting. The episodes are sometimes several days a week to going for weeks without throwing up. I am on Prilosec but it doesn't seem to help.

I am scheduled for upper GI endoscopy to see if there is something else going on.
Dx acid reflux, Aug 2012. On Prilosec for GERD. Sucralfate for nausea.

Hi Lilacs,
Welcome to Healing Well!  I think it's a good thing you're pursuing this diagnosis and getting things checked out.  I'm sure your endoscopy will provide a lot of information and will provide you with answers.  If your GI doc feels it would be helpful, there are other tests that can be done as well, like a 24hr PH monitor, which would measure the number of reflux episodes you have in an average day.  Often a barium swallow is ordered as well.  With nausea is a symptom, a stomach-emptying test might also be suggested.

Glad you've joined the forum!  Be sure to let us know what you find out.  I expect others will be by to comment and offer additional support.
Good luck!

Thank you for welcome. I have posted a few times at the Crohn's disease forum. I had a substantial weight loss and doctor suggested it could be Crohn's disease. I saw GI PA and he thinks it is acid reflux which was the original diagnosis. I did have a test swallowing barium and getting x-rays.

The GI PA thinks the unintentional weight loss is just a coincidence. I went from 108 lbs to 97 lbs in nine months time. I am short with small build. Weight loss has stabilized.

My blood work checked out okay.

Hi Lilacs,
You've been through a lot.  Glad to hear your weight loss has stabilized.  You are too tiny to lose anymore weight! Good luck with your endoscopy!  Let us know what you find out.
Take care!
