I started this thread, but had a problem with my cursor.  I will try again.

Usually my throat does not burn.  I don't throw up.  I don't feel nauseous.  But my life has been taken over by this condition.

I haven't slept in a bed regularly in years.  This month I slept in a bed for about an hour 12 hours after I ate.  I miss being in a bed.  I sleep sitting up on very hard furniture.

I have cut out almost all foods on a regular basis.  But I will have mult-grain bread, pasta, chicken.  Sometimes I don't think about my GERD and have fried foods.  But I've decided to stop that.

The healthy things I do work against me.  Everything comes up into my throat, but grains my be worse than other things.  I can't eat lettuce, whole wheat pasta put me in the emergency room with throat contractions, A spinach salad made me sick all night, yer I can eat pizza.

This thing invades all aspects of my life from the sleep I get to stopping most aerobics because the food comes up.

It's terrible.

It takes up to three days for food to be completely digested and through you body, so the foods you think are safe may come back at you later. I keep hearing stories from people whose GERD was relieved by a low carb diet. I follow Fast Tract, and with careful eating I take no meds.

Hi LiteSpringBreeze,
Welcome to Healing Well!  It sounds as if you're in the right place! Are you being seen by a GI doctor?  Have you been through testing?  These are important questions that will provide members here with valuable information as we try to understand how to help and support you through all this.

Here is a link to GERD treatment options...you might find it helpful:

You can get better from all this.  It won't be overnight, but it can be overcome.  Hang in there!
Be sure to stick around the forum to get lots of support from others who've suffered as you are.
Glad you've joined us!
Good luck!
