Wondering if anyone can help me.  I've been diagnosed with Gastritis and Gerd.  Two weeks ago I went to ER with the worst chest pain, turns out it was acid reflux.  They ran some blood work of course and everything came back normal except for the Creatine which was high at .83. Not sure what that means but ER didn't seem too concerned.
Forward 1 week later, I go to my GP to let her know what happened, she has be take more bloodwork.  This time around my liver enzymes were elevated.  In ER they were: AST-16 and ALT-33.  The bloodwork from my GP was AST-64 and ALT-71.  How did it go up in a matter of 6 days?? The only thing I did differently during that time frame was taking Zantac.  Also my Platelet count was high, whereas in ER it was normal.

Hmmmm. My liver function tests were abnormal last summer - at the time I was trying to reduce my PPI and was on 300 mg of Zantac a day as well as half dose PPI. I felt generally unwell on this cocktail and gave up soon after (reverted to normal dose PPI). A few months later my liver function tests were back to normal, so I always suspected the Zantac, or it's combined effect with the PPI.
