My NF is scheduled for this Wednesday. I had earlier postponed it because I wasn't mentally prepared for it. I certainly am ready now. I am planning on everything going smoothly & recovery to go well. I can't wait until I can have a juicy steak again without excruciating pain for hours. I will keep a log of how it all goes. Wish me luck!
Scheduled for NF on 3/6/13

Good luck, mines on Monday.

As it gets closer I've just tried to forget about it, starting to have second thoughts myself but I think that's just nerves.

Good luck tomorrow! Stop by here when you feel up to it.

Good luck with your surgery too. Will be waiting to welcome you both to the wrapped Club!

Take care,

It's gonna be fine, stu. And after it's all said and done, you're gonna be SO GLAD you decided to take the next step. I'm trying to schedule my own surgery at the moment, but I'm trying to get a referral from my ENT to make it happen... He's taking his time :|

josie and stucowley, some helpful hints for after surgery. Follow the surgeons instructions to a T. Eat only 1/2 cup at a time after surgery. Even while still on liquids. If you eat or drink a lot at one time you will have shoulder pain. And it is painful. Should you have any of this pain, go for a long walk, it truly helps. When you can have thicker food, try oatmeal, blend different things that will fill you up. But once again on 1/2 cup at a time. No coffee for the 1st couple of weeks. No carbinated drinks for a least a month. Steak will be out for a few months. When you can eat again chew chew chew. This is extremely important. I had mine done in 2008 and have been doing great since then. Keep a positive attitude while healing and it helps you heal quicker. Drink and eat very slowly for awhile. Good times are coming.
Best of luck
