I have had a hiatal hernia and Gerd for several years.  Started out with prilosec and it worked well for several years, then prevacid, then a prevacid in the morning and a zantac at night.  I watched my diet.  6 months ago I had another upper GI and Dr. changed med to prevacid 2 times a day, and said at some time I would need the hiatal hernia repaired.   Now I am having trouble again, contant belging, heartburn, bloating.  I called and Dr put me on aciphex twice daily and said if I was not improved in a few weeks we needed to measure the acid in my stomach.
10 years ago I had 2 1/2  feet on each side of my small intestines removed due to what the Dr said was a intestinal blockage.  (it was not, I still pay the green vegetables, etc) The burping and stomach problems escalated after the surgery. 
I still watch my diet.  Mostly low fat, and healthy.
Seem more prone to stomach viruses,
Any ideas?  What am I looking at?
