I'm on day six since implantation of the LINX device. I have not had major problems swallowing (yet), and have not taken ppi's since the surgery. It seems to be controlling reflux very well. Without ppi's in the past I was in agony. After a tough day immediately after the operation I progressed well, improving every day, and shaking off most effects of the surgery itself. I've been eating pretty normally as well--most foods went down very well (and still do). Overall, I was quite amazed by how it was working.

However, the last two days I've had a constant burning/pain sensation in the esophagus and upper throat which, I assume, is still hangover from the surgery itself (tubes, cutting, etc). Or maybe it's the esophagus being irritated by the LINX device as it heals and adjusts to the beads pressing against it. My surgeon was very optimistic about a quick post-op recovery, suggesting I could be back at work within a week. But now I don't feel that way. My energy has sagged, I sleep a lot, and the pain continues.

I'll keep reporting. Things change quickly, and I know peoples' experience with the immediate post op period can vary greatly. I'm open to all ideas and perspectives.
