Hello Everyone,

This is my first post so bear with me!  I have had GERD since October of last year.  It started with pain in my upper chest.  Dr. put me on Nexium which worked until April of this year when I started experiencing a chronic sore throat.  Switched to Prevecid 2x a day - no good.  Now on Pariet 2x a day which seems to be lessening the pain in my throat.  Recently I have started having a nausea like crampy pain in my upper stomach and sides. It disappears when I am active - like swimming - and resurfaces when I am still - like driving or lying down.  Doesn't bother me at night.  Has anyone else experienced this symptom with GERD.  It is driving me nuts and causing me a lot of anxiety.  Thanks for sharing.

See my post called 'What cured my GERD'. The meds are what are screwing you up.

Hi McIntyre01

I have always maitained that these( PPI & H2 blockers ) drugs work for some period and than our body becomes immune to that particular drug. Than there is need to change the salt or , alternatively your doc should look GERD from different angle than to controle acid only with PPI or H2 blockers. Pl. consult your doc. I have similar problems and my doc keep adding or changing drugs. Probably Reglan might be of some use to you as it increases mascular action in stomach. But you should take this medicine only after consulting your doctor. In your case you are alrite when you are active and your muscles are bieng excersied, there seem to be linkage with your GERD and mascular action.

All the best

Thanks so much for your reply.  I am seeing my GP tomorrow and will discuss this medication with him.  I am also planning to ask for a referal to a gastroenterologist.  Hope all is well with you.
