vinegar or aloe??

Hi all. I have found this forum and read other sites and I hear conflicting statements about what kind of food or remedies to take for reflux. I think mine is LPR. I rarely have bouts of this. I can usually eat anything unless im under stress. I don't have any real stress right now. Eating well. Yet an hour later I have small burps, no real pain. Once it nearly regurgitated. Im not the kind of person who throws up easily either. Then I have the lump in throat feeling a while. I have always had postnasal drip since i was a kid. That can irritate me and i need to clear my throat alot. So I am hungry and don't know what is really safe to eat! I hear cider vinegar before meals and i hear aloe vera anytime. I also bought some digestive enzymes to take before eating.
The cider vinegar makes sense to me but will it help now almost 2 hrs after eating?

Welcome karini.

Have you been to a doctor? We can't diagnose you on a forum, or anywhere else since we're not doctors. I hope you are seeing a real doctor!

Postnasal drip could be allergy. Burping and refluxing and pain are symptoms, not a diagnosis.

I used to have a lot of burping after eating but my allergist had me keep a food journal and I found out it was food intolerances - not "true" allergies, but a problem nonetheless. Cider vinegar was one of my allergens, so I won't recommend that! I routinely recommend the food journal/diary because it can help you and your doctor diagnose if you have any intolerances. Look up the many posts on this by putting keywords into the search box at the top of the page.

Thanks Alcie yes the doctor say take Tums or pepcid just like everyone else i know. I have no predictable food intolerance. Some foods create more phlegm but I can pretty much eat what I want. This throat bupring/lump feeling is not predictable. What I find strange is that it bothers me so long after I eat. Had cooked carrots and sweet potato last night and 2 hr later same thing.
I was told 25 yrs ago that I have rhinitus. That post nasal drip will irritate me to cough. Seems that is sometimes an "aggravator" to the lpr type symptoms. Its sometimes disruptive to my meal planning or working out etc but I want to prevent it from becoming a real bad problem like some of the others on this forum. Thanks for replying
