Anyone get the heartburn at night? I hate it...its the worst. I just drink carafate and withstand it. My bed is raised very high. Sometimes I'll sleep in a recliner if it helps. But then there are nights like last night, during which I'll wake up a couple times and have heartburn and assume I've had it all night...brutal.

I have terrible night symptoms (99 percent horrible cough) but I only get them on nights I've eaten too late/close to bed time... also I believe there is some reflux that just defies gravity. No amount of wedges/raising bed will stop it.

Have you ever tried Ranitidine in addition to PPIs?  Before surgery, my PCP and asthma docs wanted me on 40mg Protonix before breakfast and before dinner, and 300mg Zantac/Ranitidine at bedtime.  It seemed to help at night.
Have you read this article on how to get the most out of your PPI?
Hope you had a better night last night!
Take care,
