I had my nissen fundo on Tuesday, April 9.  that evening I was eating ice chips and sips of water.  Very slow going down.  Wednesday morning, I was spiiping clear/full liquids. Cream of wheat was good.  No appetite so I only ate a little.  By mid day, I was swallowing this very easily.  Yesterday afternoon, Pureed chicken and mashed potatoes.  Got full kind of quickly so stopped half way.  Came home last night and drank a cup of coffee on the way home, then ate a bowle of cream of wheat.  This went down realy easily.  They had been giving me dilaudid and this does a good job controling pain, so I have had little pain.  Sore this morning though.

I hope this is encouraging for those who are fearing the surgery.  While a lot of people have had problems, so far, I have had very little complications.

Hi Jim,
Welcome to the yeah yeah yeah Wrapped Club! yeah yeah yeah Glad you're doing well!  Keep in mind that your wrap will become increasingly more swollen throughout the first two weeks, and will peak on or about Day 14 or 15.  Don't be surprised if your swallowing gets worse before it gets better.  After that, swelling begins to subside, and you'll begin to see improvements again.

Happy healing!

Thanks Denise, I take it all back. I had just came home from the hospital when I posted last. I still had dilaudid in my system. Day 4 is a different story. Very uncomfortable. Feel like I need to burp, but I know I should not push this at all. Taking laxiatives and still no results there. Lots of flatulance. LOTS. I am taking it real slow. I have found that carnation instant breakfast (sugar free) with some fat free frozen yogurt is tasty and easy to get down. I Just mix some up and keep it in the fridge. Pour out a little at a time. My wife had a gastric bypass several years ago and this is what her Doctor had her eating. Get the nutrition and protein and easy to get down.

Thanks for sharing that it will continue to get worse before it gets better. While that does not make me happy, I feel better knowng this ahead of time.
