My name is Beth and this is my first post on this site. I am a normalish 24 yr old female, 145 lbs, 5'6 and in moderately decent shape. I have been trying to do a great deal of reading for the last year to find out what is going on with me. I have had watery, painful diarrhea for 2 years, painful acid reflux, frequent vomiting and chest pain from stomach to esophagus. I finally got a PCP, he recommended me to a Gastro doctor here in ABQ, NM at UNM Hospital. I went through an Endoscopy and Colonoscopy. Upon the ENDO the doctor found a 4 cm Hiatal Hernia, Esophagitis and offically diagnosised GERD, normal stomach and upper intestine. My colonoscopy came back completely normal with the exception of hemmroids in the inner colon.
The rest of my biopsy work is still in lab.
My doctor proscribed 20 mg to Prilosec twice a day and to elevate my head.
My major concern is that I recently sook medical help because within the last 3 months I have been having the most INCREDIBLE pain in my stomach and esophagus...like a tearing and stabbing..that makes me curl up into a tight ball for hours in bed, so bad it may keep me up all night or morning nearly crying and screaming...even upon swallowing tums, pepto and acid medicine, it doesn't ease up!!
Yesterday, the day after the procedure, I had a TON of pain during my 8 hours of work in my abdominal..and I was still bleeding from my other end quiet a bit....and I felt dizzy..
Today 4/13/13 I feel a bit better...but I still have the same constricting tightness in my chest..
Keep in mind I have had to leave work a couple of times because of the inability to breathe recently within the last 4 months...
I am not sure what is going on with me..and no doctor or other source has explained to me what any of the paperwork I recieved really means (ATLEAST not since I came down off my sedatives...)
I would greatly appreciate any feedback from anyone who is experienced with this subject...I feel really confused about what to do now...

Hi Beth,
Welcome to Healing Well!  I'm sure others will be by soon to offer their own support and experiences.
It's a great thing that you've been under a GI's care at this point.  Obviously you've got some pretty severe symptoms going on, and it's important that you get them all figured out and resolved.
I don't really know what's going on in the lower GI tract other that a possible IBS issue that is creating diarrhea that is irritating your colon.  Hopefully you'll get that figured out with the help of the GI doc.  If you have hemorrhoids, that probably explains the blood.  If you've recently had a colonoscopy, they could have gotten irritated.
The upper GI symptom of unbearable pain sounds like it could be esophageal spasms.  Sometimes people get them because of irritation caused by reflux.  If they come and go, that would be my guess.
Here is some information, although if you search the topic, you'll find lots more:
