We saw your questions to Doctor Louie at Swedish. Both you and I have received a response. Thanks for bringing those thoughts out. It appears that he called Torax. It's very nice that they provide this service to the public. You are the one that brought it to HW members attention. Thanks for that. Pat

Hi 33333 and Pat Fill,
I too, have been reading Dr. Louie's blog and HW (of course!) and I am beginning to think that waiting for more hard data (in my case) as to the success of the Linx might be prudent since the device is so new.
IMO, I was a bit thrown by the problem with the Linx sizing tool, mentioned by 33333 and that the Linx is not sutured at the closed end of the loop to a solid tissue foundation to ensure that it does not slide up or down.
My other concern (according to Dr. Louie's post to 33333) is that the Linx might rub against the Vagus nerve.

With regard to the Vagus nerve the protocol for Linx is that Linx should be positioned around the enterior vagus and below the posterior. The understanding is that they have to disect the posterior vagus nerve off the esophagus to place the Linx device onto the Esophagus right under the Vagus.

That is our understanding too regarding the placement of the Linx, --but then why does it ride or tent above the diaphragm for some patients as evidenced by the remarks by another HW member-- I think it was beach girl (?). I wouldn't think there would be that much movement of the Linx itself . Wonder what would cause it.
I know you are having your final tests for your Linx. I think it is a good choice and you will be happy with it. Keep us posted please.

We should thank HW for having an open mind and allowing URLs......unlike some other forums. ha

I've seen many doctors and I'm just so glad that there's doctor like Dr. Louie in the medical community!
