Yeah I agree, I'm due to see a surgeon soon and this forum has been a wealth of great info for me and very grateful to the members/mods/admin here who help others even though they are well on the road to recovery themselves. Much appreciated.

And I agree with the above as well...I go tomorrow for surgery and am not the least bit nervous as I know what to expect and all the precautions that have been advised as far as what to eat and do afterwards. Thank you all !

I likewise would like to thank all the moderators and fellow members....I originally joined to ask for advice about whether to have the HH/NF.  As a result, I had it six weeks ago today and I couldn't be happier (so far).  In one sense it may have gone too well because it is like I am waiting for the other shoe to drop.   Believe it or not my surgery was almost pain free and recovery has went far beyoun my expectations.  I was prepared for the worst and resigned to a long, drawn out recovery, full of set-backs.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  I have been able to resume many of my normal activities far sooner than I expcted.  Thnks again for your support and advice

Hi All,
Thanks for your kind comments.  Those of us who stick around to moderate were helped greatly when we were in need, and felt it was important to "pay it forward"!  I know how hard it is to get real information about what to expect post op.  I was supported through my recovery, and have enjoyed helping others through theirs.
Retired Seabee, I also was prepared for a horrible ordeal, and was very pleasantly surprised.  Researching and getting information on what to expect is really helpful.  Often surgeons seem to underestimate the difficulties faced in recovery, and when you're not prepared for a challenge, it seems much more difficult.
Thanks to all of you for your continued participation in the forum!  Your threads provide important information and your support of others is invaluable!!
And yes, luv2drive, we're waiting to welcome you to the wrapped club!
Take care,

Dear Friends,
Thank you so much for your kind words and know that you have touched my heart.  I was dx with GERD 10 years ago but have done well on meds and watching my tirgger foods..............
However as many of you know I was dx with Colon Cancer in August 2012, had surgery and chemo and yet I could come here and ask for your support as well as try to keep up my moderating duties.
I am devoted to this site and this forum.  I have made so many new friends here and I thank God for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the GERD family.
Along with the GERD Forum, I moderate 3 other forums, however, since my surgery I have not been able to be online as much as I would like but my heart is always here with all of you.
I thank my co-mods - Bill, Denise and Erica for the awesome job they do and for picking up the slack due to my cancer dx.
Blessings to all of you,
